Fall Family Fun
Fall is a great time to visit Medina County. Fall is when our county shines with all kinds of “Fall Family Fun”. There are many great farm markets, road-side stands and greenhouses where you can find pumpkins, corn stalks, fall flowers and plants. Many of the farms have pick-your-own pumpkins and apples, fresh cider and produce. For the kids, there are corn and hay mazes and hayrides.
There are wonderful fall events for the whole family, such as the Medina County Fall Foliage Tour, Alpaca Days, Fall Foliage Fest at Mapleside Farms, Heritage Days at Brunswick Historical Society’s Heritage Farm, Chatham Apple Butter Festival, and an Early American Trade Fair at the Log Cabin Shop. Check out our web site for a complete list of event times.
The Farmers Markets continue into October with Medina County’s Farmers Market on October 3rd, Farmers Market at Trinity United Church of Christ in Wadsworth on October 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st.

York Township Historical Society
The York Township Historical Society is located on Spellman St in Mallet Creek, one block off St Rt 18 and 252. The campus consists of three buildings-a one room school house, a granary and a timber frame barn.
The 1890 school house was moved from a farm to the township to its current location in 1997. It was dismantled and reassembled to preserve the history of formal education in the township. Its primary purpose is to serve as a museum displaying artifacts, pictures, desks and documents surrounding early formal education in the township. Also displayed in the school house is a baseball uniform and equipment from the 1930’s and 40’s when York Township was known for attracting some of the best ball players in the country. There is fire equipment from the original volunteer fire department and artifacts from one of the founding churches in the community.
The granary was moved to the campus in 1999 from its original location at Station and Wolff Rds. Build by one of the founding families of York Township in 1883, it was used on their farm to store grain and ear corn. Its unique design as a combination corn crib and grain storage facility makes it a valuable asset worthy of preservation. The society currently houses farm tool displays in the building.
The timber frame barn was disassembled and reconstructed on the campus in 2008. It was originally constructed on a farm in Montville Township in 1891. Plans for displays in the barn are currently underway.
The museums are open the 2nd Sunday of each month from 2-4pm or by appointment. Monthly meetings are held in the school house the 2nd Monday of each month at 7pm. The public is invited. For more information, contact Paul at 330.722.0535 or Don at 330.723.1005.

Medina County Show Biz Company…..presents “And Then There Were None” formerly “Ten Little Indians” by Agatha Christie at Broadway Street Hall, October 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 2009. Directed by Frank Lucas. In this superlative mystery comedy, statuettes of little toy soldier boys on the mantel of a house on an island off the coast of Devon fall to the floor and break, one by one, as those in the house succumb to a diabolical avenger. A nursery rhyme tells how each of the ten “soldiers” met his death, until there were none left. Eight guests who have never met each other or their apparently absent host and hostess are lured to the island and, along with two house servants, marooned. A mysterious voice accuses each of having gotten away with murder and then one drops dead – poisoned. One down and nine to go! The excitement never lets up.
Medina Model Railroad & Toy Show
