See some of the best classic, collectible, rat rod, hot rod, and muscle cars in Northeast Ohio, and enjoy classic tunes from the 1950-70’s with DJ Bruce, as Main Street Medina today announced that the organization will host weekly cruise-ins in Medina’s South Town, Tuesday evenings, May 21-September 24th from 4-8pm at 233 Lafayette Rd (the former Hawkins Market parking lot, soon to be the new home of Medina County Habitat for Humanity). South Town is a mixed-use district roughly bounded by Smith, S. Broadway, Lafayette, and S. Huntington Roads.
The South Town Cruise-In is free and open to the public. The event is presented by Main Street Medina, with support from Medina County Habitat for Humanity, and generously sponsored by South of the Square Collision Center.
“There are some really great projects and developments happening in South Town, and we wanted to start an event that will bring people to the area to get more exposure for the restaurants, shops, and service businesses in the district,” shared Matt Wiederhold, executive director for Main Street Medina. “The business owners and residents of South Town have been engaged in on-going community meetings, sharing ideas of what they’d like to see develop and how they’d like the district to evolve over time. When the Medina Farmers Exchange project is completed and open later this fall, it will be a destination anchor for the district, and will help bridge the gap, in a meaningful way, between the Uptown Historic District and the surrounding historic neighborhoods.”
