Friends of the Cemetery presents Paul LaRue
Friends of the Cemetery is pleased to present Paul LaRue, President of the State Board of Education and Co-Chair of the America 250 Ohio K-12 Education Committee. This event will take place on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum. Attendees are invited to gather at the tent located near the Soldiers’ Mound at the Spring Grove Street entrance.
Mr. LaRue’s presentation, titled “I Never Met a Cemetery I Didn’t Like,” aligns with the upcoming America 250 celebration and supports the Friends of the Cemetery’s ongoing project to restore and preserve historic gravestones, including those of Revolutionary War patriots, at Medina’s Old Town Graveyard.
The event is free and open to the public. Historic Spring Grove Cemetery is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom site, as well as a global arboretum. Spring Grove is located at the corner of East Washington and Spring Grove Street in Medina.
